Gorey Celtic 3 - 0 Taghmon

A cold but fresh morning brought an easier than expected 3 points for Celtic, who whilst in truth weren't brilliant and have lost games when have had played better.

Both team looked rusty and sloppy at the start of play, no doubt considering this was only our second game since early November but there was only one team in the ascendency from the off.
Taghmon pushed up and played a high line which made the midfield very tight and congested. It took Celtic awhile to settle but it was only a matter of time before Celtic exposed the spacein behind the Taghmon back four. The first goal came from a great ball from Lee Carabini, who put Joe McNulty through, just beating the offside trap and holding off a strong challange to finish into the bottom corner.
Ross Riordan soon added a second with a fine solo run ans shot which nestled into the net. Celtic could of been out of sight by half-time, hitting the post twice and had a goal ruled out for offside.

H.T. 2-0

A great start to the second half, after Adam Connor was unlucky missing a penalty which brought a great save from the Taghmon keeper, the resulting corner by Riordan found the head of McNulty to score his second of the game. Celtic were comfortable at this stage and decided to empty there subs bench giving all four lads a chance to impress and really should have increases their goal tally but after conceding 3 late goals in their last outing away in Campile they were never in danger of history repeating.

No outstanding player in the day but good showings from Peter Byrne and Big Josh making his debut at centre back
