Enniscorthy United 2 - 0 Gorey Celtic
A severly depleted Gorey Celtic travelled to Enniscorthy on Sunday, missing 5 of the starting line up that defeated Corach Ramblers the previous Sunday.
A disjointed performance saw Celtic suffer a 2-0 defeat.
Celtic dominated the first 45 mins, Ken Price in goal being a virtual spectator, Celtic should have had a healthy halftime lead, Gooch, Steve Allen and Craig Connor all have good chances.
Enniscorthy's physical approach to the game saw a glut of freekick awarded to Celtic, which they failed to take advantage.
H.T.: 0-0
Enniscorthy upped the tempo in the 2nd half, playing a longball game on a very short pitch, they started to ask serious questions of the Celtic back four.
On 55 mins, Enniscorthy broke the deadlock, a mazy run into the Celtic area and a cross/shot was deflected into the goal by an unfortunate Celtic defender, on 65 mins a 30 yard strike made it 2-0.
To their credit Celtic battled back, efforts from Steve Allen, Danny Reilly and John Kavanagh going close.
A mediocre performance if truth be told, a game in which we were in control of at half time, slipped away in the 2nd half.
Enniscorthy's physical approach in the 2nd half found us wanting......
Team: Ken Price, Noel Kenny, William Keogh, Mark Tyndall, Paul Timmins, Craig Connor, Brendan Doyle, Danny Reilly, Ger Carey, Steve Allen, Padraic Moran.
Subs: Colin McShane for Timmins (35 mins, inj), John Kavanagh for Moran (70 mins)
