Gorey Celtic 7 - 1 Shelbourne

Celtic moved into 4th place in division 2 with an emphatic destruction of Shelburne on Sunday morning

Celtic showed all the signs of a decent team, superb passing and movement, lethal finishing, a hard working and creative midfield and rock solid defence and most importantly players on the bench that can make a difference when called into the action.
Certainly a performance that was pleasing to the eye, but one has to question the ability of Shelburne. On yesterdays showing, it looks like a long winter ahead for them.
For Celtic, who knows? but the signs are looking good.
Celtic were 3 to the good after 25 minutes, Danny Reilly, Will Keogh and new signing Tiernan O'Gara converting from the penalty spot. A rare attack from Shelburne on 30 minutes reduced arrears to 3-1, Celtic continued to dominate the first half and could have been even further ahead such was their dominance.
A feature of the first 45 minutes, was the performance of Ger Carey. He was unmarkable, such was his control and trickery on the ball.

H.T.: 3-1

The 2nd half was a total one sided affair, a 2nd half hat-trick from Tiernan O Gara scoring 4 in total on a very impressive debut and David O Brien adding further goals.
David O'Briens volleyed strike from 15 yards will live in the memory of those who were present, a spectacular goal.

A final scoreline of 7-1, which could have been even bigger.
