Duncannon 3 - 1 Gorey Celtic B

After a 5 week break because of the recent bad weather saw a rusty Celtic team make the long journey to Duncannon and serve up what was probably their poorest performance in 18 months.

2 down after 20 mins tells it own story with Celtic 2nd best all over the pitch, Celtic looking brittle at the back and offering very little going forward. Towards the end of the 1st half Celtic started to get into the game abit more, John Lavery and Paul Hayden took control of midfield and Celtic began to have a few decent chances but were unable to find the goal that would get them back into the game. H.T.: 2-0

The 2nd half began as the 1st ended with Celtic on top and continued create chances but some good goalkeeping added to some poor finishing ensure that the home side kept their 2 goal advantage intact. Then on 70 mins Duncannon goal their 3rd, catching Celtic on the break.
To their credit Celtic kept trying and got their reward on 80 mins when Chris Sheridan found the net but it was all too little too late as Duncannon held firm for the remaining 10 mins.

A very poor team performance, missing a few key players and the 5 week break didnt do us any favours.

Team: Padraig Roberts, Noel Kenny, Pa Murphy, Tom Crofts, Steven Finn, Terry Carey, John Lavery, Paul Hayden, Alan McArdle, Steve Allen, David Fitzgerald

Subs: Chris Sheridan for Crofts (60 mins), Alan Fogerty for Roberts (65 mins).
